In March 2010 David Prosser became the Executive Director of RLUK, the representative body for the UK’s leading research libraries. Before moving to RLUK, he was, from 2002, the founding Director of SPARC Europe, an alliance of over 110 research-led university libraries from 14 European countries advocating new models of scholarly communication. Previously, he spent ten years in science, technical, and medical journal publishing for both Oxford University Press and Elsevier Science. During this time he was involved in all aspects of publishing from production through to editorial and financial management of journals. Before becoming a publisher he received a PhD and BSc in Physics from Leeds University, UK.
For the past 10 years, Susan Murray has been the Executive Director of African Journals OnLine. AJOL is a South African Non-Profit Organisation working toward increased visibility and quality of African-published research journals, hosts the world’s largest online collection of peer-reviewed, African-published scholarly journals, and is a sponsoring member of CrossRef. Susan is also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Directory of Open Access Journals, a member of the Advisory Board for the Public Knowledge Project’s current study on Open Access Publishing Cooperatives, and member of the Advisory Board of CODESRIA’s new African Citation Index initiative.
Jean-Claude Guédon is an Honorary Professor in the Department of Literatures and World Languages at the University of Montréal. Until last year he was a full professor at the University of Montréal in the Department of Comparative Literature, where he been working since 1987.
One of the world's first pioneers of open access publishing, Jean-Claude Guédon was one of the initial signatories of the Budapest Open Access Initiative in 2002; the Founder and Director of Surfaces, the first Canadian scholarly electronic journal, and is currently a trustee of the Nexa Center for Internet and Society, Turin Politecnico and an expert for UNESCO on non-commercial open access. He is the winner of a number of scholarly prizes, and in October of this year the Jean-Claude Guédon Award, established at the Interuniversity Research Center on Digital Humanities at the University of Montréal, will be awarded for the first time to the author of the best article devoted to online publishing and open access topics.
Paul Peters is the Chief Executive Officer of the open access publisher Hindawi. Paul has been working at Hindawi since 2004, and took over as the company's CEO in 2015. Paul was a founding Board Member of OASPA, and has served as the Chair of the OASPA Board since 2013. Paul is also the current Chair of the Crossref Board of Directors.
Currently Lars is Managing Director of the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals). In the past, Lars have been Deputy Director, Acting Director, Technical Information Center of Denmark Technical University of Denmark, Director of Libraries at Lund University, Sweden, Director SPARC Europe.
Lars is Founder of the Directory of Open Access Journals (www.doaj.org), Co-founder of OpenDoar, the Directory of Open Access Repositories, (www.opendoar.org), Co-founder of the Directory of Open Access Books (www.doabooks.org) and Co-Founder of ThinkCheckSubmit (www.thinkchecksubmit.org).
Lars has been on the OASPA Board since 2012.
