About the Speakers:

Fiona Murphey

After completing a DPhil in English Literature, Fiona held a range of scholarly publishing roles with Oxford University Press, Bloomsbury Academic and Wiley. Now an independent publishing consultant advising institutions, learned societies and commercial publishing companies and Associate Fellow at the University of Reading, Fiona has written and presented widely on data publishing, open data and open science. Amongst other activities, she is an active member of a number of Research Data Alliance Working Groups, and on the Steering Committee for the Force11 Scholarly Commons Group, and is Secretary of the Board for the Dryad Data Repository.

Iain Hrynaszkiewicz 

Iain Hrynaszkiewicz is Head of Data Publishing at Springer Nature where his team develop research data policies and services across Springer Nature. He is also publisher of Nature Research Group’s Scientific Data journal. He leads and contributes to community initiatives and working groups on data sharing and reproducible research and is Programme Chair of the conference, Better Science through Better Data. He has published numerous articles related to data sharing, open access, and open data - one of which has been cited more than 170 times.

Martin Fenner

Martin envisions, develops, implements and manages a robust technical architecture for DataCite. Until 2015 he was technical lead for the PLOS Article-Level Metrics project. Martin has a medical degree from the Free University of Berlin and is a Board-certified medical oncologist.

Elizabeth Hull

Elizabeth Hull is Operations Manager for the open data repository Dryad. She holds a varied background in libraries, archives, public history and archaeology, all of which feed into her overarching commitment to open access and usability of knowledge.
